Changa Freeman, was born in Dayton, Ohio. Writer, Playwright, Essayist, Poet and Photographer has a passion for depicting stories of extraordinary people during their daily life through creative writing and visual art forms. Education and Training background includes Organizational Management, Wilberforce University (1993-1994); Fashion Design, Fashion Institute of Technology (1982-1983); Clothing Construction Apprentice, Wright-Patterson AFB (1978-1981) and Associate of Arts degree in Commercial Art Technology, Sinclair Community College (1984).



First Vice-President

Marsha Russ is a Dayton native and emerging artist. She has over 35-years of office management, leadership and other specialized experience. Ms. Russ provided support at federal and private medical facilities in St. Louis, Missouri; Indianapolis, Indiana and Dayton, Ohio. She is a product of Dayton Public Schools and after graduation, continued her education at Wright State University, Sinclair Community College, Lindenwood University and The Community College of the Air Force. She is the current business manager for two Dayton Public Schools high schools, as well as, a current union officer. She is an United States Air Force Gulf War Veteran.



Second Vice-President

Jarrod

Jarrod Williams, a courageous, strategic and results oriented development professional that is committed to creating a true culture of improvement, data and gift management, annual giving, face-to-face solicitation and event planning. Jarrod’s work experience includes his present occupation as Development Officer for the National Underground Railroad Freedom center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served as the Director of Annual Giving for the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio from June 2018 to June 2019. Past occupations are Underwriting Account Executive for WYSO Radio and Development Assistant for the Dayton Art Institute. Jarrod has a Bachelor of Arts from Wright State University and a Master of Science from Northern Kentucky University.

Cedric

Cedric McGhee is the Chairman of the ACTSO Division of the Dayton NAACP. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He also has a Masters of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton, Cedric is also a Lifetime member of the NAACP.

April Alford-Barclay is a graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership. She also has an Associate of Arts Degree in Social Work from Sinclair Community College. April is currenly the Executive Manager at the Montgomery County Board of Elections. AAVAG uses her expertise for our social media usage.

Craig Screven is a graduate of The Ohio State University and a professional artist. Craig brings to AAVAG the expertise of organization and has served in many capacities of leadership. A diligent worker and volunteer in many of AAVAG's events and workshops, he has also chaired many committees.




Dwayne

Dwayne Daniel is a charter member of AAVAG, a professiomal artist and Fine Arts Professor at Central State University. He has served as President of the organization. He has a Fine Art Degree from Central State University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio.



Yvette

Yvette Walker Dalton is a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, she also has a Master of Divinity from the San Francisco Theological Seminary. She is also a professional artist, and a retired Art teacher. . Yvette brings to AAVAG her experience in Education, the business of Art and spiritual guidance.



Cupp

Adjunct Professor, College of Arts and Sciences: Theatre, University of Dayton. D. Tristan Cupp is co-founder and artistic director of The Zoot Theatre Company. A recognized versatile artist, Tristan’s artistic talent includes set and scenery design and construction, scenic painting, sculpting, properties design and construction, and puppet and mask design and construction.



Andrea

Andrea Cummings, is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, she is AAVAG's Gallery Curator, and she has served as Secretary of the general membership, First Vice- President of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Program Development Committee of the general membership.



Cliff

Clifford Darrett is a charter member of AAVAG and has served in all elected offices of AAVAG. He is a professional artist, musician and a Jazz disk jockey at WDPS radio station in Dayton. Cliff is an Emeritus Board member and serves as a resource person for AAVAG. He has an Associate Degree in Electronic Data Processing from Sinclair Community College, a Bachelor Degree in Business Adminisration from Central State University and a Masters of Computer Science from The University of Dayton. He is a retired General Motors employee and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
